Albums Of The Year-No 10-The Raconteurs

Like the album's arrival, I was pleasantly surprised after listening to this album as I hadn't expected too much of it. Despite Jack White's musical brilliance and many professional journalists disagreeing with me I feel it is Brendan Benson who provides the cutting edge to this album. The standout track for me was Many Shades Of Black which comes courtesy of Brendan's vocal talents. However almost every song on this album whether sung by Benson or White oozes class Combining a mixture of high paced riffs, old country blues amd old fashion rock n' roll Consolers Of The Lonley is a modern day lesson for any other band thinking of attempting those genres.
